“Having the CE mark on our geogrid products will give us a great boost into the European market for geosynthetics,” said Strata Systems, Inc. President Chip Fuller.
Microgrid™ Secondary Reinforcement
Strata's high tenacity geogrids and other soil reinforcement products have been issued a CE marking certification. CE is a mandatory European marking for certain product groups to indicate conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in European Directives.
“Having the CE mark on our geogrid products will give us a great boost into the European market for geosynthetics,” said Strata Systems, Inc. President Chip Fuller. “The CE mark is also recognized globally as an indicator of high product quality control and good manufacturing management.”
The CE marking allows Strata to freely sell and distribute its products throughout the 28 countries of the European Economic Area (EEA). It declares that Strata’s soil reinforcement materials meet certain standards under Directive EN13251 for geotextile materials used in earthworks and retaining wall construction.
Strata’s CE marking announcement coincides with the company receiving its ISO 9001:2000 twelve-month surveillance audit certificate. The ISO certification assures Strata’s ongoing compliance with globally recognized ISO standards for quality management systems to enhance customer satisfaction in supplier-customer relationships.
In the broad scope of overseas competition, Fuller sees a direct linkage between his company’s ISO and CE marking certifications. “As we grow internationally, we know that customers are looking for ISO: 9001 certification to ensure that we have the management systems in place to meet their expectations. Having ISO helped us tremendously with the CE testing and documentation process.” |
